Love this laptop, especially since it's Lenovo .. had multiple problems with Dell and HP, but Lenovo has always been rock steady for me. To my knowledge they still build their systems quite well and use quality parts, and the laptop just feels solid. Performs great, and looks sleek. Great performance for the price, especially if you can get this under $550.

Needing a laptop after giving my 1 year old Toshiba to my new assistant, I purchased the G770 looking for a larger screen than the more common 15.9".

I was extremely satisfied with my Toshiba and looked there first. I do believe in good research and come up with a surprising alternative: Lenovo.

The G770 received extremely positive, authoritative reviews everywhere I checked. Its price was lower than the comparable Toshiba while having a significantly better boot time and polish/quality reviews.

Having owned this laptop for a month, I can absolutely recommend it.

The laptop weighed much less than I thought it would. Only slightly more than my smaller Toshiba.
The screen is large, sharp and bright.
The aluminum bronzy brown finish is very cool
Speaking of cool, this laptop runs extremely COOL & QUIET. I often finding myself checking that its still on. If you work mainly with your laptop in your lap, you'll love how cool this laptop stays.
The Core i5 performs superb. Fast and capable of several large programs simultaneously without trouble.
The HDMI connection has already come in handy.
The keyboard has excellent response and finish.

The only cons:
The keyboard is compressed so the width of the keys are significantly less than normal. You get used to it but as you move from a full keyboard to this one, you'll find yourself hitting wrong keys and searching. Nothing too bad but you do wonder why they did this considering there is a full 1 inch of wasted space on either side of the keyboard. Still the keys have a great feel and this is not a deal breaker after you experience this beauty.
Screen is best viewed only straight on. It shifts in color with minor angle changes. Again, not a deal breaker but the otherwise class, quality of the display makes this a head scratcher.
Edges have very short plastic lip that is raised just enough to irritate when using the key board for an extended time.

As you see, the Cons are all minor and should not deter anyone needing a fast, powerful, beautiful and practical laptop from grabbing a G770.

Why Lenovo ship these laptops with 64bit OS if most software still developed for 32bit. Do not buy this laptop unless u r prepared to go thru a downgrade to 32bit which is not an easy task and no support from Lenovo. You will need a new Windows DVD which they did not provide. Most of my software not working!!!
